2002 Honda Accord emission sensor

My Honda accorrd 2000 model of the Philippines suddenly lights up the emission sensor. The user manual says that i have to turn off the engine and after awhile, i can turn it on and use again. My question is that, to bring it to the nearest service center i have to drive 150 kilometers, is it safe to do that? What is wrong with my car?

If you don't have any type of driveability problems go and get it done or you can borrow a code reader/scantool and pull the code/s yourself
