2002 Honda Accord Cant shift from PARK to other gears.

Today for the 1st time, after I started my car and drove it for awhile then placed it in PARK....it would not shift from PARK to any other gears. So I used an ink pen to press down in the slot next to the AUTO GEAR SHIFT....and it shifted. However, that did not fix the problem. Now I have to use the ink pen every time I shift gears. What is the problem ? Thanks

Check if the brake lights are working if okay have the shift interlock control system checked out-
