My 2002 Honda Accord with 190,000+ miles with auto trans which was rebuild last year, just have to say first i just love my car and hate the fact i need a new one. Recently when i start the car i ingage the brake and it still wouldnt allow me to take the car out to park. I have to keep taking my foot off the brake and back on until it lets me move the gear shift. I hate taking to a mechinic if its something i can do. I figure its just a safetly switch that is falling, but where is this switch located.
Thanks for you help.

Hi texasmom,

Check if the brake lights are working when brake pedal is depressed. The switch is mounted just above the brake pedal.
Make sure proper adjustment is made after replacement to avoid brake failure due to lack of free play.
