nothing to do with my car

we have a security patrol, 6 suvs, 5 on patrol 24hrs a day, some rotation, speeds 10-20 mph, ~130k miles/yr

A/C must run (Miami), may go thru grass, not really off-road

What could be the criteria in selecting such a vehicle?
Reference?
Minimize the boats your brother mechanics can buy ;-)

Synthetic oil, larger radiator and oil cooler sound good to me as a starter

Absolutely use a synthetic (full synthetic) and use at least a 10-30. Change every 3,000 miles.
Change plugs to NGK/Denso Iridium.

If you can get a 2 core radiator in then do so as well as an oil cooler.

Engines that idle for extended periods of time CAN cause bearing damage, so I would install a mechanical oil pressure gauge. If pressure gets to 10psi at idle, change oil to 15-50 synthetic.

Check with manufacturers and get the HD cooling and towing package.
