Trying to move gear from parked to drive while pressing on brakes and it doesn't want to shift? What do I do??

When you press the brake pedal does it make a click noise at the gear selector? If there is no click noise check the brake lights while pressing the brake pedal. If the brake lights are not working, it could be a faulty brake light switch. Next to the gear selector on the right side there is a small cover that you can pry out with a small screwdriver and insert a key to release the gear out of park.
