Intermittately my accord will not start correctly. Istead it go into a rough idle and the engine will not stay on unless I keep accelerating.

If I release the gas the RPM drop and the engine cuts out. If I press down the gas and get the RPM up to 6000 or so I'll eventually clear the problem until the next time.

I use to fly airplane and it sounds like the mixture is to rich.

I have checked the computer and found no trouble codes. I put in a couple bottles of fuel system cleaner which didn't work either. I have cleaned the carb and check the recall notices. I also changed the spark plugs.

Tomorrow I'm going check and clean the idle air control. The only other thing I can think of is to change the fuel filters but those are in the gas tank and thats not easy for me to get to.

Any other ideas?

Wow, first of all don't wrap that engine so hard. Your problem is only temporary and will be fixed but the damage you can do to it will be long term.

I would suggest you get a test of the fuel pressure. There is no carb but injectors. You didn't post much for info on the car other than the year.

I believe that car has power packs for the plugs to fire and not a distributor. Are you getting a good spark at each cylinder?
