my car has started to shut off alot lately. When i crank it up if it will start and put it in reverse it does a shake and cut off. SOmetimes it starts up fine though. It was only cutting off every two months or so but the problem has gotten worse and now its shutting off twice a day every other day if not more and takes an hour or more to crank up after having this problem. A lot of people are talking about the fuel pump but when the car runs it dont run bad at all. It dont over heat what so ever. I dont know what could be the problem. Any suggestions? thank you for your time.

Hi whitneyp,

If the dashlighs do not indicate when the engine stalls, the problem could be due to a faulty ignition switch. There was a safety recall on the item and you can check with your local honda dealer.

If it is fuel that is missing, check the PGM-FI main relay, it could be intermittently failing.
