2001 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

To shift the car into gear, the brake pedal needs to be pressed. Sometime it wont shift until press it several times. This just started.

Hi captcotton,

Looks like the brake switch is not functioning properly.

Check/test operations of brake lights when pedal is depressed. Check for improperly installed fuse under hood fusebox.

Replace brake switch if brake lights does not come on when pedal is depressed if powr supply is available at switch.
