my 2001 accord dx idles rough in park and when in-gear. Most of the vibration is felt in the steering wheel. I have had the motor mounts replaced and replaced the spark plugs . Should I also replace the distributor cap, rotor, and new plug wires as well ? Will this help with the idle issue ?

Thanks !

Hi tedaquatic,

It would depend on what is causing the vibrations. How many of the engine mounts were replaced?

What is the idling speed?

There was only one engine mount that was broken and replaced per the mechanics recommendation ... The car idols at around 7500 rpm .... drives great. but just a little rough while in standstill mode ... in-gear and in park .... most of the vibration is felt in the stearing column for you reference.

I will await your reply & thanks !

There are 4 mounts in total, 3 of them are important mounts for holding the engine and the last one is to prevent the engine from jerking too hard when shifting to D or R.

Looks like you need to check the other mounts. They would age over time and even if they are not broken, the absorbing qualities of them would have deteriorated.
