2001 Honda Accord Moaning sound

Just started doing this - when applying the brakes, even lightly (when car is moving), it makes a mid-tone moaning sound, that persists for a second or so after taking the foot off the brake.

What might cause this?

Your brakes may just need to be serviced. The noise might be the brakes still being applied after the foot is off the pedal.
