Check engine light has been on for some time. Took car to get inspected and they wouldn't inspect it until the check engine light was turned off. I had the car hooked up to an OBD computer and the computer threw an EGR code. We replaced the EGR valve and the check engine light went off. After driving the car for approximately 50 miles, we parked it and came back in 30 minutes and the light came back on. We have been told that the car needs to be driven for a while before the computer resets itself. Do you think that the light will turn itself back off? The inspection needs to be done ASAP and can't be as long as the check engine light is on. Any ideas? Thank you!
