on a road trip whenever I would hard accelerate or the cruise control would accelerate engine to between 3500-4000 rpm at high speed the engine would seem to almost cut out. As soon as I let off the accelerator and or maintain spped and rpm of 2800-3000 it was fine. I had a problem 4 years ago when the oil pressure sensor was plugged due to cheap oil use an it acts the same. Also where is the sensor located?
