1999 Honda Accord Sunroof Malfunction

The sunroof on my car no longer tracks backward to open. It will crack open as intended, but when you hit the switch to recess the roof, it only moves about 1cm. Any ideas on what I can check to maybe resolve this issue, or is a trip to the dealer my only solution?

Hi there,

If it starts to move and stops in the same position, the gear drive on the motor may be damaged. Can you still here the motor running? or is it cutting out? there may me an over lode switch shutting it down id the retraction mechanism is over tight.
