1999 Honda Accord Sputtering and stalling

I was driving my car home and it starting lurching and the rpm's when through the roof and the check engine light came on. I had to drive it home in 1st gear going 25 miles per hour. In 1st and 2nd gear it drives fine but in 3rd and 4th gear it starts lurching and stalling on me. What could this possibly be. Thank you, Laura

Hi Laura,

Get a free scan done at Autozone to retrieve the trouble code for the CEL indicating and let me know the EXACT code.

The code should tell us something.
