1999 Honda Accord Shifting to Drive

The shifter will not move out of park. I have the brake depressed and the brake lights are coming on. I have to wiggle the shifter to get it out of Park. Is there an adjustment or lubrication needed? It is worse in cold weather.

Hi cdemanche,

Most probably the lower end of the gear shift lever needs some lubrication and adjustment. You need to remove the console to lubricate.

Adjustment can be made by removing the 2 screws and taking the upper gear shift out.
