had diagnostic done at auto zone, code p1259, vtec systems malfunction probable cause 1] low oil/pressure 2] blocked oil passage 3] failed vct valve
checked oil was a quart low but light is still on

I would suggest having the oil pressure checked. Low oil pressure will critically affect the oil getting to the camshafts and cause serious damage.
