Hi, I have a 99 Accord that was jerking and hesitating when I accelerated. The dealer diagnosed as having a P1149 Ho2S (Primary HO2 Sensor 1) issue. They said according to the Technical Service Bulletin #01-031 which says to replace the ECM/PCM. How much should this cost to replace this? I am worried I will overpay. Also is it safe to drive the car with this problem (check engine light is on)? Thanks so much, I really appreciate it!

I did find the TSB they are refering to, but my estimator doesnt give a price for the ecm. You are looking at about 1 hr of labor plus parts. Try calling other shops or Honda dealers and ask for "out the door prices" this is a cut and dry procedure with no need for "bump" calls(price increases).

The TSB claims it is a false code, so there may not really be a problem. But I would have it taken care of just in case, you dont want to do any damage to the cat converters from the mixture being too far off
