My problem lies in the lights. Today I installed some LED taillights. Everything went fine but my blinkers were going really fast, so I went to radioshack and bought some 8 OHM 20watt resistors to stop the problem. Unfortunately, it did not work, I was pulling the lights out to take out the resistor and two unprotected points touched (I am assuming it was positive and negative), the resistor became really hot and I pulled it out. I come back to the car with the resistor out and I find out that my lights are not working. I switch on the lights on the car and the running lights don't turn on. Now here is where it gets weird, the brake lights work on just the side that the connection happened. The other side which had nothing to do with the incident does not work at all.

Here is probably the most important part, my blinker works fine on the side where the connection happened (it blinks really fast) but on the other side all of my lights blink (interior lights too) when I turn on the blinker.

I thought it was a fuse, but I checked all of the fuses on the car but I had no idea if it was one of the fuses under the hood.

The blinker problem happens on the side with taillight bulb harness that did not get shorted. I can switch them around and the problem will just flip. No matter what I did (take out the harnesses) the running lights never turned on (including the dash panel).

I really appreciate a response, I will give $7 to the person who helps me out. I know its not much but I don't think the problem is that big (I hope) if it is bigger I will bump it up a little.

I needed this fixed, like 2 days ago, so a timely response would be appreciated.

*None of the headlights are affected

Hi brianjoy77,

Thank you for the donation.

The running lights not working with the taillight and interior illumination lights indicate a possible blown taillight fuse.

The blinkers working abnormally with the interior lights cuold be due to a bad ground circuit connection. Recheck the ground connections for looseness or possible broken wires.

For the side that is blinking fast, are all the turn signal bulbs on the same side working when it is blinking fast?

Ok well the reason the lights are blinking fast is because of my led tailights, that's not really a problem right now. I checked the fuses for tailights and they were fine. So where would I check the ground?

The ground connections are at the rear taillights. They are bolted onto the body somewhere near the taillight on either side of trunk.

I figured it out, it was all due to a license plate fuse blown on the passenger side of the car.

How do I get my money back from this website?
