can ignition barrel be replaced without steering lock unit?will it need programming if replaced with new barrel and key?thankyou

Hi purplenick,

For manual transmissions the key cylinder can be replaced separately.

If vehicle is equipped with immobilizer system, the key would need to be reprogrammed. To avoid reprogramming the key, you can rebuild the new key cylinder to match the old key.

If not equipped with immobilizer, no programming is required.
