HI, I AM RECENTLY STARTING TO HAVE PROBLEMS WITH MY GEAR SHIFT. I PUSH IN THE THUMB BUTTON AS WELL AS THE BRAKE, HOWEVER IT WILL NOT SHIFT OUT OF PARK. I LEAVE THE CAR RUNNING FOR ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES AND EVENTUALLY IT WILL ALLOW ME TO MOVE THE GEAR SHIFT. I HAVE CHECKED THE TRANSMISSION FLUID AND IT IS FULL, DO YOU HAVE ANY THOUGHTS AS TO WHAT MIGHT BE CAUSING THIS?

Had the same problem with my mazda: thought I would need a new trans. when in fact it was only a censor that needed change. I strongly recomend that fix before any other... let me know how that worked...

Its either gonna be the switch on the brake pedal or the electro-magnet in the shifter itself. there should be a small access plug on the shifter cover you can remove and stick a small screwdriver in to manually move the lock-out thats keeping you from shifting out of park.
