Intermittently after about 5 minutes of driving my car will just turn off while driving or idling. The radio and electric windows work still. I wait like 30 seconds and it starts up. It usually does it on 80 plus days and doesn't do it on cooler days. I am located in Wisconsin. My distributor was changed and the problem still persists. Any other ideas?

Hi sixisuper,

Thank you for the donation.

There are 2 items that cn cause such intermittent problems.

1. Ignition switch. A safety recall was issued for this component and the symptoms are as described. When problem occurs, check if the ignition switch is heated up at the base.

2. PGM-FI main relay. This component is known to fail intermittently causing stalling while driving. When engine could not be started, check if the fuel pump is working.
