1999 Honda Accord Engine light on

I have a 1999 honda accord, My engine light is on and I took it to a mechanic and he said it was P1166, that means control air and fuel metering, and I would like to know is this a serious problem? What does it mean? How can I fix it?

It means the heater element in your front o2 sensor is bad. You wont notice it running any different. You will need to replace the front o2 sensor for emission sticker if your state requires it. I hope this helped.
