Will "die" while driving. Often while on the freeway?

Hello!

Occasionally, my 99 Accord will "die" while driving. Often while on the freeway. I don't lose electrical power (e.G, the radio stays on and all dashboard indicator lights come on) and the car will "restart" in just a few seconds.

This problem has also occurred a few times while starting the car in a parking lot and/or when shifting into reverse. In both cases, the car will start and run normally after it dies.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

THANKS very much.

Hello,

It sounds like you might have a faulty crankshaft position sensor.
When a crank sensor goes bad it can stall the engine regardless of if you are moving or standing still. It can also make it hard to start the engine.
Many times these issues are intermittent, however they will usually get worse over time.
Honda calls this sensor as TDC (Top dead center).
