1999 Honda Accord Does not go in Parking gear

Hello,
About a week back, ny honda accord refuses to go in the parking gear. so now when i need to park, i have to get it in nuetral with the hand brake completely pulled up and have few stones set so it does not roll over. The car runs just fine with no trouble.

can you please let me know what can be the potential trouble.

Hi afydafy,

Looks like it is the gear shift assy that is at fault.

Is the shift button at shift lever loose ?
Is it easy to engage Reverse from N?

If you need rocks to stop the vehicle after the parking brake has been engaged, the park brakes needs to be looked into.
