1999 Honda Accord 4 cyl

I have a 1999 Honda Accord and my D4 light is blinking and the check engine light is on. When I come to a complete stop and pull off the car hesitates to pick up speed. For about 10 seconds then it kicks in gear. What can be the cause of this? Could it be my transmission?

Check engine light coming on

Have the computer scanned for code/s-you have a problem within the engine management system that caused the CEL to turn on-This is your starting point of diagnosis, finding out what's going on. To include scanning the TCM if not integrated with PCM
