WHAT DOES THE CODE P.1696 MEAN? THE ELECTRO MECHANIC CANNOT FIND THE DEFINITION OF THIS CODE. THE CAR MALFUNCTION IS ON THE TRANSMITION. THE ACCORD DOWN SHIFTS AND UP SHIFT HARD , AS IF THE TRANSMITION WERE CHANGING SHIFTS AT WRONG SPEEDS. THE TRANSMITION HAS BEEN VERIFY...NOTHING IS WRONG.

Hello !!

that code means:

P1696 PCM Failure EEPROM Write Denied

which means:

An attempt by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) to store data to an internal EEPROM was unsuccessful

I think that the PCM its not working right...

get another-one on the junk yard and see if that solve your problem...

Good Luck!
