Summer of 2007 had engine light come on for catlytic converter not performing to specs. Changed converter and both the fore and aft O2 sensors. Light went off for about a year. The VTEC module then went out and I replaced it. During the VTEC swap I removed the EGR valve and noticed that the port where it attached to the engine was completely blocked with soot as well as the EGR valve itself. I opened up the ports and removed all of the soot and re-installed it. About 6 months later the check engine light is back on for emissiosn again. My fear is that the fuel / Air mixture is all messed up and I need to replace other items. I'm not sure what sensors are involved and should be replaced to get this back to normal. Also, the check engine light will turn itself off about once a month and stay off for about 3 days before coming back on. Its been doing this for close to a year. So the out of spec condition gets back in spec and then back out again. What should I be replacing to overcome this.
Thanks
