Tail lights come on when lights are activated but do not light up when brake is applied. The side and middle brake lights come on, so I think the brake switch is okay. Have already replaced bulbs and checked fuses and found no problem. What might cause this?

Hi medievalhorn,

If the high mount brakes works, you need to check the brake bulbs and/or its sockets. Did you use the correct bulb type, it should be of double filament.
