1998 Honda Accord shiift

When it does not shift out of park, check if the brake lights are working when brake pedal is depressed. If brake lights are not working, the brake switch is faulty, maybe intermittently.

If yes, listen for a clicking noise when brake pedal is depressed. If noise is present and gear cannot be shifted out, the interlock solenoid is not moving far enough to release the gear shift from PARK.
