Engine Mechanical problem
1998 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 186k miles

I got my transmission replaced 6 months ago, 4 1/2 months later my thermometer went bad the car started heating up and like the oil went into the engine... Did alot of damage had to replace the engine, radiator also changed water pump and the timing belt... The car jerks in the first gear and also in the second gear, pushing more rpm... Pushing the gas pedal all the way doesn't push the car that fast it runs on normal pace as if I'm just tapping the pedal lightly... When goin up hill the speed decreases sometimes mainly stays on the same speed, I push the pedal all the way... I just recently got a tune up done and still same problems. If u guys can give me all the possibilities it would be very helpful... Thank you

Hi Tkhan12,

I would suggest checking :

1 . Throttle cable adjustment. If the cable is too loose, the throttle would not open fully and this would result in poor performance.

2. Check the spark plugs and wires. Seems something is not correct causing the jerking.

3. Check the timing belt installation. Improper installation would result in lack of power.

4. Check the fuel pressure and filter. Clogged filter would affect the performance.
