Hi, I have a 1998 Honda Accord with 5speed transmission. The car has 116k miles on it. This past week, after I have driven my car, I can smell a 'rubber' burnt smell from the front hood. Yesterday, I even smelt it inside of my car while I was driving.

I try to check whether there is oil leak, but I didn't find any. Is this caused by the clutch? I bought this car second hand at 99k miles, and I'm not sure whether the clutch has been replaced before.

Please reply, thank you.

You can test the clutch for slippage by setting the emergency brake and holding the foot on the brake pedal while letting out the clutch pedal slowly. If the car dies instantly it probably is not the clutch. You should also be able to feel the slippage when you do a take off.

Now, have you considered the thought of the belts slipping?
