I have a 98 Honda Accord, I took my car in for Head Gasket and timing belt repair and when i went to pick it up from the mechanic i noticed a very loud crackling or grinding noise comming from the engine that i have never heard before. they insisted it was normal but i knew better, they closed therre business leaving me with no way to honor the warranty they gave me. But i can't seem to figure out what the noise could be. Is it possible that it may be improper timming for the valves??

Hi GREENORB69,

They deserves to close their business since they don't have any responsibility and can't assure their customer a good job.

Does the noise level or pitch increase with the rpm?

Which part of the engine is it coming from?
