1998 Honda Accord Cost to repair transmission?

I took my car in to the dealer because it was jerking when shifting gears and the check engine light came on. They said the transmission is about to die and suggested repairing it, for close to $3500. Does that sound about right?

Sounds about right for Honda :) .

I would look for a good used transmission, or get a second opinion.

You should be able to get a good used trans from a junkyard and installed for around $2,000 or so.
