First started yesterday afternoon. After driving at higher speeds (on a freeway, usually), my car will shudder, as if trying to stay on, and sometimes dies entirely.
On checking it out upon arriving in a parking lot earlier this morning, it doesn't currently *seem* to have a problem starting again, but it goes right back to shuddering and dying unless I press down on the gas pedal, keeping it actively rolling.
The most recent maintenance performed was the change of a couple of tires, replacing the battery, and a routine oil change. Over the past few years, there've been three major repairs: transmission replacement (in mid-2007), brake component replacement (mid-2008), and the change of a device who's name escapes me--some kind of electronic component that was sometimes preventing the engine from properly kicking in when the key was turned (mid-2009).
The Check Engine light also came on recently, but has since turned off. I had it looked at anyway, and I am told that my O2 Sensor for the Catalytic Converter may be going.
Any insight you may have for this problem would be awesome!
