I have a 1998 Honda Accord EX V6. We have been having trouble with it blowing fuses for about the past month. When it blows a fuse, the shifter is locked in park, the brake lights don't work, the horn is gone, and the cruise control is out. Nothing in particular seems to be triggering this fuse blowing. I know this is electrical, but have no idea where to start looking.

There is a Recall campaign from summer 2002 and Nov 1999 about honda vehicles and an incorrect routing of wires causes them to get pinched by the brake pedal or switch causing it to short out. They are suppose to repair that or put a PVC sleeve over the area to keep that from happening.

Goto Honda.com and look for the owners link.
Type in your vehicle V.I.N. and it should tell whether you are still eligible for that program.

Mine was. Having that same problem and they had to replace the harness under warranty due to the recall.

It is serious enough that NHTSA has it posted on their website too.

I think it is "NHTSA.gov" not sure... about that though. You can definitely get from honda's owner link website.
