1998 Honda Accord 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 157k miles

i have a honda accord v6 1998 and when i starts my car and donot run it for like about 10 minutes its temperature needle goes to hot bt when i start driving it it comes normal what kind of problem is that..............?
please help me..

Could be the temperature gauge switch or the coolant temperature sensor-check and test both
