My mechanic is unable to remove some kind of bolt necessary to access the timing belt and water pump in order to replace both and the thermostat. Is there a special tool required that only a Honda dealership repair facility would have?

Hi Debra,

The only item that is most likely to cause the problem would be the crank pulley bolt which requires a special locking wrench to hold the pulley while loosening the nut. There are some parts stores that has a loan program, check with them to see if they can provide it.

Alternatively a high torqued impact wrench can do the job.
