Noises problem
1997 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

I've had a problem developing for several months, starting in Feb.. Whe the temperature get colder, there is squeeking when turning the wheel left or right. It has gone away with the warmer weather, but eventually comes back on a day that is 10 degrees colder.

It is almost like there is some ball joint with a slow fluid like which goes away when the temp increases(which would increase the pressure). But, as time goes by, the leak increases, so it takes even warmer temperature to get the same amount of pressure. In Feb, the sqeeking only happened when the temp was less than 20 deg F. Now it happens when the temp is less than 65 degreees F.

The noise comes and goes, so it's not as reproducible as it should be. Does anyone know what could cause this? The car has 300K miles, so it tends to make different noises at different times.

It's one or both of your lower balljoints. The sockets have run dry and are now squeeking.
