Hello. I had my timing belt and radiator replaced about 3 months ago. Smelled a burning rubber smell after that a little while, then either didn't notice it or it went away. Today I smelled that smell again, quite bad. A burning rubber/oil smell. I do have an oil leak, have had since I got the car, about 6 years ago. It also has been idling a little high, like it goes to 3 rpms at about 65mph and doesn't shift until about 70 mph but used to. I had the spark plugs/wires replaced and that helped for a month or so on the idling, but it's off again. I'm taking it tomorrow to get checked out.

So what exactly do you want to know?

The transmission is not causing your high idle. You might just have a vacuum leak or something of that nature.
