1997 Honda Accord head gasket/radiator/oxygen sensor

My boyfriend recently put on a new head gasket, and new radiator.
It ran perfect for a few hours after the operation, then the car started sputtering and missing like it wasn't getting fuel. It also is needing water in the radiator once in a while. He took a jumper wire across the oxygen sensor. It barely runs now and when I come up to a stop it clunks when it downshifts.

Did he have the head checked for warping and cracking at auto shop? Did he put on a new intake manifold gasket?
