Hi, I recently noticed my clutch pedal get really soft. This had not happened previously, it usually is firm and I didn't have trouble changing gears (no forcing whatsoever). When I brought it into my regular shop they said the slave and master cylinders needed replacement, although they had been replaced less than 4 months ago, by the same shop. Although it had not been long after I noticed the softness that I had it checked (1 day approx.), Apparently the fluid from the cylinders had leaked completely so there was air accumulated in them from me pressing the clutch pedal to drive. After the new slave and master cylinders the clutch was still extremely soft and I basically had to force the gears in while driving, so I took it again. Now apparently the clutch needed replacement, which was done. But guess what. The pedal is still soft and I'm still forcing the gears. They say I should give it a very short time to come back to normal, but I'm skeptical. Should I be listening to these guys?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation.

The clutch system on this car is very basic, if the clutch has been replaced I would be looking at the hydraulics, but as you said this was all changed not long ago, so where to from here? I would get a re bleed done, if that improves the problem the hydraulics are at fault, if there is no real improvement, you may have a defective pressure plate, this is very uncommon but not totally unheard of, start with a re bleed, let me know what you find.
