1997 Honda Accord Cleaning hoses connected to EGR Valve

I can identify the valve and replace it, but was wondering what pipes or hoses have to be clean to solve the problem of insuffiecient flow. Is it the large tube that comes out of the manifold below where the EgR valve is attached? This tube is roughly 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches in diameter and stops at the fan. If so should i just replace it with a new hose. I really don't want to pay the estimates I have gotten of $300-$400, but I want to do the job right.

the big hose that runs into the egr, it might be metal (in some cases)
