1997 Honda Accord Car Not Starting

Hello... I was in a rush to work the other day and I kinda left my keys in the ignition. The engine was off; however the radio was still on. When i got off of work (9hrs later), I thought a simple boost would turn the car on. During the boost, the car did not turn over while cranking it. So I took the battery to autozone and they said that the battery didn't keep a charge... is the battery all that I have to worry about? The battery looks to be really old, but I've never had any trouble at all with the vehicle. I'm just afraid I may have damaged something else during the time my car was on in 100Degree weather. Thanks guys!

If the ignition was in the accessory position everything else should be ok. That isolates the engine and other systems from the stereo so as not to cause excessive drain on the battery. Probably a combination of the heat and being drawn down is what caused your battery to fail/short out
