I was driving from school and it felt like i had a flat tire. The check engine light is on now and my speedometer doesn't work. I know there has to be something wrong with the transmission but i don't know what. The last time i took the car in for a check up they told me i needed to change my transmission fluid. I didn't. Hopefully this is the problem but I'm not sure.

First step would be to read the code. What you might find is that you might have to replace the vehicle speed sensor.
