1996 Honda Accord -- Hood Latch

The hood release (inside the car) seems to be completely slack -- in other words, the hood will not latch shut. It's been really cold in Michigan lately so it seems like the cable is frozen & not retracting.

You don't even know the pain in the efforts it takes to repair the cable if the hood gets shut and the cable is bad. I suggest that you get a new cable for the hood and not risk that the cable is bad somewhere along the line. Just the fact that it is dragging might imply that moisture is in there and rust is probably working at the cable too.
