1995 Honda Accord 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

when idling, after I have driven the car for about 10mi, the oil indicator light is coming on and my car begins to sputter a bit like it wants to cut off. putting the car in neutral kinda fixes the problem. I checked the oil level (after the car cooled down) and it was fine. I do have a bit of an oil leak though, have for years. car has about 225,000 miles on it.

I was curious if it might be the oil pump. any and all ideas would be welcomed. thanks for your time. love the website.

To rule out the oil pump you must check the oil pressure with a mechanical gauge
