Transmission light is flashing and the speedometer

I have been driving my 1995 accord and the D4 light has been blinking just thought the light was going out now the speedometer has stopped working is this a problem with the transmission?

Hi 1995chet,

Most probably the Vehicle Speed Sensor is faulty causing the speedometer to malfunction and the D4 light to blink.

VSS is located on top of trans axle housing below the thermostat housing.
