Engine Performance problem
1995 Honda Accord 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
acts like a bad plug wire. I have changed plugs & wires. Have cleaned egr port to #4 cyl. I can unhook & plug vaccum line to egr & problem goes away. I can have egr vaccum kooked back up & unplug the wires on top of egr & problem goes away. What do I do to fix my problem with egr hooked up?

Hi erobinson61,

You did not post the question in detail so I am not sure what you are referring to. If it is the EGR port under the EGR valve, it leads to the exhaust of the 4th cylinder.

The easiest way to clean is to get a flexible wire, a speedometer inner cable would be ideal.
Spray some carb cleaner into the port and let it soak for a few minutes.
Attach the speedometer cable to the end of a hand drill and push the cable into the port. With the drill turning, pull and push the cable in and out to brush the carbon off.
Repeat a few times and spray carb cleaner while doing it.
