The speedometer will intermittently not work. I have replaced the VSS with no change in behavior. Any other suggestions?

Hi celtictimjim,

Was the replaced part new?
Is it an OEM part?
Is the Check Engine light indicating when the speedometer failed?
Did you check the VSS wireharness connector for contaminations?

In answer to your questions-

1. It was new, not OEM.
3. No check engine light on.
4. Inside of harness looked clean and wires seemed seated.

The new sensor might be faulty as well. If you are able to perform test with a DVOM, I can get the procedures for you to test the VSS pulse.

I do have a DVOM, so the procedures would be appreciated.
