What could be causing my accord to shift hard? It seems to shift harder into first and second, then third is a little gentler, but you can still feel it. It looks like the fluid has been changed recently because it's not real dark. Where should I start? Thanks!

Hi Acrdownr,

Check the tran throttle cable adjustment. It is most probably adjusted too short resulting in high pressure.

The throttle lever at the trans should only move when the accelerating throttle moves and not before.

How do you check the throttle cable adjustment? I can’t find any information on adjusting it. Where? How?

Hello,

Here is how to adjust the throttle pressure cable which tells the transmission how much throttle you are giving it. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.
